How to treat all types of scars with icoone® Medical's targeted programmes
A scar is our body's natural way of healing and replacing damaged skin: damage to the deepest layer of the skin, the dermis, is required to produce a scar, whereas in the case of damage only to the epidermis, the most superficial layer, the scar will not always appear. A scar is usually composed of fibrous tissue and can form for a variety of reasons, including as a result of infection, surgery, injury or tissue inflammation.
The final appearance of a scar depends on many factors, including the type of skin, the position on the body, the direction of the wound, the type of injury, the person's age and nutritional status.
Thanks to some of icoone® Medical's specific programmes, we are able to treat both inflammatory and non-inflammatory scars. For example, using the programme Novaskin we can mobilise, soften, moisturise, drain and stimulate cell regeneration with reduction of interstitial matrix fibrosis, improving healing in the case of recent scars. While thanks to the combination of the Skinrepair and Finalsuitable for scars that are no longer inflamed, we can reduce fibrosis and encourage reactivation of the microcirculation, preventing secondary effects such as adhesions and thus achieving both aesthetic and functional improvement.
Sometimes scars can be seen as an indelible reminder on the skin, but by treating them effectively, we can improve the overall quality of the tissue involved and, as a result, undesirable side effects can be mitigated.
