Choose icoone treatments to fight skin ageing and enjoy the summer!

One day, we suddenly look in the mirror in the morning and there they are: a few fine lines around the eyes, a wrinkle in the middle of the forehead that we hadn't noticed until now. Sooner or later it happens to all of us, but it would be pointless to deny that it is a bad blow: with the first wrinkle we suddenly feel a little less young and attractive. Because they are an unmistakable sign of age.

What causes wrinkles
The causes of wrinkles are in fact related to the ageing of the skin: with time, the collagen and elastin fibres of the skin, which in fact form the framework of our skin, change and lose elasticity. This leads to a 'disorganisation' of the fibre network that supports the skin, which, as it becomes less flexible, becomes marked especially at the points where there is the greatest tension for expressiveness: at the beginning, in fact, there are fine lines mainly as signs of expression, when these become deeper we speak of real wrinkles.
Loss of skin elasticity begins on average around the age of thirty (but genetics greatly influences the timing of the appearance of wrinkles as well as their abundance) and increases with the passage of time, with some factors contributing to worsen the situation such as:
- the poor hydration: with time, the skin loses its ability to retain water and dehydration makes the surface layer of the epidermis more fragile and wrinkles more noticeable
- the change in hormone balancewith the menopause, oestrogen is reduced and with it the production of collagen, so the formation of wrinkles is accelerated
- l'sun exposureExcessive sunlight facilitates photoaging, i.e. skin ageing in general (to which the appearance of skin spots, for example, also belongs), and also the formation of wrinkles and fine lines
- l'pollutionexposure to pollutants, smog and others, brings free radicals into contact with the skin, which accelerate its ageing, including wrinkles
- the smoketypical are the 'bar-coded' wrinkles around the lips, which are related both to the contraction of the muscles to hold the cigarette in the mouth and to the local accumulation of pollutant toxins in smoke.

Exposing oneself to the sun in particular can be seen as a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it brings our body many benefits, from increasing the production of vitamin D, which is essential for the body's health, to the production of serotonin, the feel-good hormone. But, at the same time, UV rays cause photoaging and, as a result, the skin ages.

The term photoaging means precisely skin ageing caused by chronic damage resulting from exposure of the skin to sunlightwhich can lead both to alterations in cellular DNA through the action of free radicals and to damage to collagen resulting in deeper wrinkles and skin laxity.

How to prevent wrinkles
Preventing the appearance of the first signs of ageing is possible through good nutrition and careful skin care. Of course, prevention does not mean that wrinkles will not appear sooner or later, but you can try to delay their appearance and counteract their progression over the years.

Alongside all this, also targeted treatments can make a difference: the micro facial massage possible with icoone, besides being completely non-invasive and having no side effects, in fact improves the circulation of the facial skin by activating the fibroblasts, so as to ensure adequate production of elastic fibres and collagen for keep the skin supple for longer. icoone is very effective in reducing wrinkles once they have formed, but starting to use the treatment when there are only the first, imperceptible fine lines means you can have smooth skin much, much longer.

In particular, the Focus programme "Smoothface' aims to work with focused stimulation on the most pronounced wrinkles, in order to achieve complete oxygenation even in the smallest areas, thus giving the skin a visibly younger appearance.

So, always remember that in addition to choosing icoone-targeted treatments, before sunbathing you should apply a sun cream with a protective factor suited to your phenotype... even in winter because although the rays are less perpendicular and therefore less penetrating, photoaging damage can still occur.

Wrinkles are definitely a sign that we have lived through, but with a few good lifestyle rules and specific treatments, their appearance can be slowed down.
